Drake released his 7th album "scorpion" and completed that his contract and word is that he is deciding not to re-sign with Lil Wayne's Young Money or Birdman's Cash Money. So instead of doing that, Drake may be signing a new deal directly through Universal Republic and even though his record label OVO Sound is signed to major label Warner Brothers Records, there is some who may think that he may bring his label over to Universal Republic as well! The word from Birdman is that Drake was his most consistent artist and he will miss him dearly! While there has been no word from Wayne yet but it has been heard that Wayne is upset that Drake would not resign with Young Money. So it appears that this is how things will be as word from Universal Republic is that Drake won't be leaving the major label who he was signed to under Cash Money/Young Money. There is even word that Drake has an album already completed and prepared to release unpon an official announcement of his new direct deal with Universal Republic.

As reported via Billboard, Wale has signed with Warner Bros. Records. Maybach Music Group’s Grammy-nominated rapper is releasing new track “Black Bonnie” featuring Jacquees and will unveil his sixth studio album later this year.
Wale and Warner Bros. Records celebrated their new alliance at the Crustacean restaurant in Beverly Hills, Calif. last evening (May 15). Joining Wale and Warner Bros. co-chairman/COO Tom Corson were Warner Music Group CEO Stephen Cooper, MMG founder Rick Ross, Spotify’s head of urban Carl Chery and several other Warner Bros. executives including Chris Atlas, senior VP/head of urban marketing, and PJ Bloom, senior VP of film & television music and soundtracks.
In a statement announcing the signing, Corson said, "I am delighted that Wale has joined Warner Bros. Records. Q Da Fool has taken his rap career to the next level. Last week, Roc Nation announced a new record deal with the Maryland native 21 year old hip-hop artist. Q Da Fool now has a major machine behind him and is finalizing his "100 Keys" EP, which is scheduled to be released this summer.
Q Da Fool's first project after being signed will be produced exclusively by major music producer Zaytoven from Atlanta, GA. "Working with Zaytoven on this EP has been a dope experience for me," the DMV native told Billboard. "I mean, Zay is a legend in the game and when he sent me the first set of beats, I knew then that this 100 Keys EP was going to be a classic project for me."
The former Pakk Boyz member is celebrating his latest business venture with the release of the Zaytoven-produced "Not Playin" and the single's coinciding visual. "‘Not Playin’ is one of my favorite tracks that Q and I had recorded, because it has that real authentic trap bounce. I decided to work with Q when I first saw one of his videos," Zay explains. "I knew then he was a star, so I sent Q's manager some beats and when he sent the songs back, it was a confirmation to me that he was definitely a superstar."
